Charities

In addition to producing exceptional events, the mission of the Cascade Lakes Race Group is to support local non-profits and businesses in the communities we travel through.  In 2013, we will donate over $10,000 to local non-profits and community groups through the S2S.  If you are interested in becoming an Official Charity please fill out the application and we will contact you promptly with additional information.

Our most popular fundraising opportunity is the “Hire a Volunteer” program.  Your non-profit organization finds supporters to volunteer at the race on behalf of your charity.  Your charity is paid $100 for each adult volunteer you provide that works an eight hour shift, creating a fun and easy opportunity to raise significant funds for your organization!  Register to apply to become an official charity by clicking on the link above and let us know how many volunteers you anticipate being able to provide on race day.  There are no guarantees that all volunteers from your organization will be hired.  Volunteer assignments will be finalized in the month prior to the race.

There are many other opportunities for your organization to fundraise during the race. Historically, organizations have raised money through activities such as: selling coffee and bagels at the start line, pancake breakfast at a sleep-over area, “renting” cots at a sleepover area, “Van Wash” at the finish line, accepting donations for soap and towels for showers, etc.  Please indicate your fundraising ideas in the Official Charity Application and we will contact you to discuss opportunities and how we can support your organization.

If you are volunteering on behalf of an Official Charity, please visit the Volunteer page for critical instructions and directions.  The volunteer coordinator for your charity will let you know where you have been assigned and what time your assignment starts.
